The launch party for "Slam the Brakes On" is happening on Wednesday 18th February 2015. It will be taking place at The Troubadour in Earls Court. Full band with Demian Wieland & Charlie Webb plus special guests on the night.
In the wake of 2013, Albert Man emerged on to the music scene with a collection of piano based, lyric-led melodic pop songs. In the tradition of many great songwriters that have gone before, this is pop with dark undertones and strong narratives.
London-based, this half-German Mancunian delivers eclectic songs and engaging live performances. Early recording experiments at Abbey Road Studios culminated in an eagerly anticipated four-track EP: ‘Slam the Brakes On’ which was released in February 2015.
A believer in 50’s rock and roll and 80’s Bowie, the music reflects his love of both. Dr. John and Tim Minchin have both inspired humour in his lyrics and the piano-driven sound which accompanies them.
Albert Man has built a powerful portfolio of songs and cast of devoted fans. A regular performer and headliner at the Troubadour, London’s legendary live music club, this Man about town is not to be missed.

Albert sings and plays piano with band mates Demian Wieland (drums) and Charlie Webb (bass & backing vocals), whom he met on tour. Bonding over Jenga, Top Trumps and Viz magazine the trio became good friends; a chemistry that results in dynamic live shows. His rhythm-section buddies provide a solid foot-stomping backbeat to Albert's quirky lyrics and melodic baritone. The songs of Albert Man are born at home but come to life in the rehearsal room. After a musical retreat to the west coast of Ireland, the ‘Neantog’ sessions solidified the new set; Albert’s reaction was full of Northern excitement – “Well, that was alright wasn’t it, let’s get a pint of Guinness”.
For a real sense of what Albert Man & his Band sound like live.
