Press Release

Albert Man is ready for 2018 with an arsenal of new songs, written during the last few months of 2017. The intention is to release a series of singles in the new year, the first of which is called ‘Say Something Loving’ which will be released on the 2nd February 2018.

The single launch show will be taking place on the 7th February 2018 at the 1901 Arts Club in London and there will be two special guests on the night – Hattie Briggs (Fender Undiscovered Artist 2017) and Saarloos from Dublin, a new collaboration between Brian McGovern and Craig Gallagher, both of whom have supported Gavin James on tour. You can get tickets to the show at www.albertman.com/tickets.

‘Say Something Loving’ is a new direction for Albert and this is a new style of songwriting from his previous body of work. It’s modern pop with a hint of nostalgia and a throwback to 80s production, whilst maintaining Albert’s signature keyboard sound.

The track was written near the end of 2017 and then the lyrics rewritten multiple times on scraps of paper by Albert, whilst on an ‘off-the-grid’ holiday in Italy. It was produced and mixed at Jake Gosling’s Sticky Studios in Surrey by Grammy-nominated producer Adam Coltman. Sticky Studios is most notable for its work with artists such as Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, One Direction, Christina Perri, Paloma Faith and Wiley, and it’s where Ed Sheeran recorded all of his early work. Geoff Pesche (Gorillaz, Coldplay, Kylie, Lily Allen, Blur) mastered the track at Abbey Road Studios.

2017 was an exciting year for Albert Man. He released a six-track EP and his St Pancras Old Church live album, played many major UK festivals such as The Great Escape, Liverpool Sound City, Tramlines and Standon Calling, was nominated for ‘Best Unsigned Male’ in the ‘Best of British Unsigned Music Awards’ and had airtime on BBC Introducing in London as well as other regional BBC radio stations.

‘Say Something Loving’ is Albert Man’s introduction to 2018 and gives a taste of what’s to come. More information about the single can be found at www.albertman.com/ssl.
